20 Years of Innovation

Case Study

For 20 years, iFixit has led the repair revolution — teaching people around the world to fix their own devices, keep electronics out of landfills, and push back against a culture built on replacement.

To celebrate this milestone, iFixit partnered with us to develop a series of snappy, engaging films that could honor their innovation while keeping the true hero in focus: the fixer.

The goal was not simply to celebrate iFixit as a company, but to show what their work makes possible. Every guide, tool, replacement part, and repair resource exists to help people take confident ownership of the things they use every day.

We approached the campaign with a hybrid visual style — pairing polished studio footage of tools and parts with years of lifestyle footage we had previously captured. This allowed the films to feel both elevated and real: slick enough to celebrate innovation, but real enough to stay connected to the people doing the work.

In studio, we showcased a wide range of iFixit’s tools and repair parts through sweeping light hits, turntable movements, and macro product visuals. Sound design was used to heighten the tactile personality of the work — bringing texture, energy, and a distinctly tech-forward feel to every click, snap, movement, and reveal. We also selected a track with a beautiful electronic soundscape, helping pull viewers into a world that felt modern, capable, and full of possibility.

The final films became a celebration not only of iFixit’s 20 years of work, but of the global community of fixers they have empowered — people learning to open their devices, repair what is broken, and grow in the confidence that ownership should bring.
