It was the end of the summer of 2009, as warm evenings shifted to cooler evenings. I was heading into my third year of college but honestly my life was aimless. What was I even going to do with an undergraduate degree in Psychology? What was I passionate about? What were my gifts? Without being too dramatic.. who was I?
I didn’t know the story that I had been placed in, and I didn’t know the story I wanted my life to tell.
Suddenly I was standing in a dark corn field – disoriented, with a broken hand, a broken finger, a dislocated wrist, and a very mangled Kawasaki. I had wrecked my motorcycle going 90 miles per hour. Needless to say I was not going to make it back to school the following week.
I didn’t know it at the time but it was in that difficult motorcycle accident that The Lord began to actually do a work – not only on my hands, but on my heart.
A door opened for me to become the media director at a church in Lancaster, PA. I had no résumé, no experience, and no equipment. But it was there that I discovered my passion for capturing real, true, and beautiful stories through film and photography. I also discovered a woman who I could make life an adventure with.
Mast Film Co, in many ways, is far more than a business. Mast Film Co is the culmination of over ten years of finding my unique voice, and telling the stories that are close to my heart. I absolutely love the raw, powerful emotions that I get to share through our films.
I love reminding our clients of the legacies they are leaving.. who they really are, and that what they do is valuable and important. When a client emails me with almost no words, telling me how proud they are to work for their company because of our films.. how they were literally moved to tears.. For me that is what it is all about.
Over the years I never imagined what simply saying “Yes” to God, with plenty of hesitancy, would do. Thank you for joining this next piece of our journey. We can not wait to see what comes next.
